I recently discovered through a Facebook update that today is apparently National blueberry pie day. I am a very large fan of blueberry pie, none better than my cousin Joyce's blueberry pie that she makes with hand picked wild blueberries. You, like I may have noticed that today is in fact April 28th, which is not a day in late July or early August when blueberries are actually in season. While it is entirely possible that other areas of the country have a blueberry season earlier than this, i am fairly certain that time is not late April. The Blueberry growers of the United States should really band together to change national blueberry pie day to a day that could actually help sales of American grown blueberries.
